GIC is currently carrying out development to aid in formalizing the informal settlements mainly adjacent to the existing Hlalanikahle township. The scope of the work to be done is wide, as most of the structures within the settlement are built using corrugated steel sheets. GIC is currently providing a water reticulation and sewerage network, streets and stormwater drainage, and is successfully overcoming any challenges presented. The project is practically complete with snags being closed out, planned for completion before the end of 2022.
