GIC completed formalising an informal settlement in Mpumalanga. The settlement boasts 1557 stands that stretch over two municipal wards, which necessitates coordination of work and expectations across these wards. The formalisation included the provision of sewer reticulation, gravel roads, and stormwater drainage channels. The development takes place adjacent to a wetland that required design changes to protect the environmentally sensitive area, ensuring we stay within the boundaries of the site (as suggested by specialist studies).
